First whale sighting!
2 June 2015
Our skipper, Simon, was very surprised to see a juvenile humpback whale off the bow on Saturday – it’s very early to be seeing them at the end of May!
The young one was too quick for us to get a photo, but we’re looking forward to many more whale spotting opportunities like these this year! It certainly was an exciting experience for those on board.
Whale watching season in the Whitsundays is usually June – September. Book a tour with Derwent Hunter this winter and you might just get a free whale watching experience!
Derwent Hunter filming again
Once again, Derwent was chosen for a spot of filming this week, for a Channel 7 travel programme to be aired in July, more information will be revealed closer to the date, but let just say the host was… hypnotising!
Don’t forget our June special
We are offering a very special deal along with our favourite restaurant at Abell Point Marina – Barcelona Tapas Bar!
Round off the perfect day on the water with a free tapas platter for two at Barcelona right after your day of sailing and snorkelling in the sun. Barcelona is situated at Abell Point Marina where we board and disembark, and is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down of an evening.
(And the food’s delicious!)
