What a great day out on Friday 26th January for Australia Day. We put on a good Aussie show, with Australian flags and Vegemite, and some good old-fashioned Australian hospitality. And we got to show off some of the best of our native wildlife and landscapes.
We saw turtles, a big friendly stingray, and lots of beautiful corals and small fish.
What a great day indeed!
70 years of Aussie history and counting
Built south of Hobart in Tasmania from Australian Huon pine, Tasmania Oak and Blue Gum, the Derwent Hunter is the last ship built in Australia that was designed to work under sail.
She was built by hand, by four men, over a period of 18 months.
Since then, she has discovered new territory, been a CSIRO research vessel, and starred in a TV series! Read more about her amazing history below on our website.
Two awesome days out
