October is usually pretty dry up here in the Whitsundays, but we had an unseasonal amount of “liquid sunshine” (read: rain) falling this week.
The islands are loving the drenching, it’s made everything really green again, which is so lovely to see.
Guests on the grand old Derwent Hunter made the most of it, with a comfortable sail out to our favourite snorkelling spots. We got a few nice yellow rain coat photos too! They do look so striking against an aqua sea and a stormy sky.

We also been blessed with some amazing skies. Next time you’re on board, don’t forget to look up, with the beauty of our heritage sails and tall timber masts, it’s always a beautiful sight to see.

Amazing turtle encounter
We delighted some guests this week with an incredible up close and personal turtle encounter – right up beside the dinghy, one curious little fella hung around for quite some time, not intimidated by us at all. Magic!
Amy kept a good watch from the dinghy while guests snorkelled and enjoyed the moment.
Happy birthday Ocean Rafting!
