Growing old ‘disgracefully’
16 June 2015
This week we had the Ulysses bike club members sail with us on what turned out to be one of the wettest and windiest days of the year!
The lads didn’t seem to mind, and got into their full pirate get up to enjoy the day. They were well-behaved and mannerly and kept the rest of the guests well entertained.
Sporting the motto “grow old disgracefully”, they had a blast with us exploring the islands of the Whitsundays.

The outlook: this week’s weather
After some wild and woolly days recently (which we have thoroughly enjoyed, we were built for this!) we’re excited to see the forecast is once again improving, and we are looking forward to an amazing week.
Winds: SE or E, 10 – 15 knots all week (good light breeze, perfect for a little sail, not enough wind to spill your beer).
Waves: 0.5m – 1m swell (very light = smooth sailing!)
Tides: the greatest tide variation is today. The difference between low tide and high tide decreases as the week goes on. (less water movement means snorkelling visibility is set to get better every day)
New sails!
As you might know, Derwent Hunter recently spent some tip out of the water and on the slip, while we showed her a bit of love.
She got a whole new set of sails too, check out how pretty they are!
June special – free tapas at Barcelona
We are offering a very special deal along with our favourite restaurant at Abell Point Marina – Barcelona Tapas Bar!
Round off the perfect day on the water with a free tapas platter for two at Barcelona right after your day of sailing and snorkelling in the sun. Barcelona is situated at Abell Point Marina where we board and disembark, and is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down of an evening.
(And the food’s delicious!)
