It’s been a hot summer, which is even more reason to visit the Great Barrier Reef! Spanning 2300km and encompassing 2900 individual reefs and over 900 islands places the Great Barrier Reef is the largest and most significant coral reef structure on the planet.
Tourism is important for the reef
With temperatures soaring this summer the Great Barrier Reef is feeling the pressure. We as tourism operators more than anyone know how important it is to protect this vast and magnificent eco-system. But with a reef spanning such a large area (70 million football fields to be exact!) no one person or company can monitor the changes to the reef on their own.
This makes the dedicated tourism operators dotted up and down the coast the ‘eyes and ears’ of this precious coral reef system. Everyday we take people to see the wonders of this underwater landscape. Making it our mission to educate people to become advocates for the health of the Reef for future generations to enjoy.
Visiting the Reef is the first step to saving it
So we implore you to holiday here this year! Let us inspire you by telling you the story of one of the worlds most treasured eco-systems. Experience the Reef with us and in return you will be helping the Reef by allowing us to continue to monitor it daily.
It truly is one of the natural worlds wonders and we want to keep it that way for generations to come. Save the Great Barrier Reef by first falling in love with it. So what are you waiting for? Visit the Great Barrier reef and come and sail with us around this precious wonderland.
